2 Corinthians 5:6-8
So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

Q35. What benefits do believers receive from Christ at their death?
Ans. The souls of believers are at their death made perfect in holiness,1 and do immediately pass into glory,2 and their bodies, being still united to Christ,3 do rest in their graves4 till the resurrection.5
